Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is close to sealing a new £250,000 a week deal with the Red Devils which will be for five years.

Mourinho joined the Red Devils in 2016 when he replaced his former boss Louis Van Gaal where he signed a three year deal.
He is now being rewarded with a new deal, the Manchester United hierarchy are satisfied with the job the Portuguese has done so far at the club.

Mourinho led the 20 times Premier League Champions to Europa League and League Cup successes last season.

While they finished sixth in the Premier League, the board accepted that a number of games had been sacrificed for the Europa League, which was seen as an easier route back into the Champions League.

Mourinho, 54, has taken United up to second position on the Premier League log and they eased into the knockout stages of the Champions League.

This move by Manchester United will fend off PSG who has been showing keen interest in the former Chelsea gaffer.

Manchester United are currently 12 points behind leaders Manchester City in the Premier League and will hope to continue their chase with a victory over Burnley on Saturday January 20.
