Alexis Sanchez has spoken of his delight at joining Manchester United, after signing for the Red Devils on Monday and has revealed what he will bring to the club.
The Chile star, who will earn a basic weekly wage of £350,000-a-week at United and will wear the No 7 shirt, said: “I am thrilled to be joining the biggest club in the world. I have spent three-and-a-half wonderful years at Arsenal and I bring with me very positive memories of that great club and its fans.
"The chance to play in this historic stadium and to work with Jose Mourinho was something I could not turn down.
“I am very proud to be the first Chilean player ever to play for United’s first team and I hope I can show our fans all around the world why the club wanted to bring me here.’
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho remains in awe of new signing Alexis Sanchez, and has hailed the former Arsenal man after he completed his move to Manchester United on Monday.
Speaking after the deal was officially announced, Mourinho praised the Chilean, saying 'his ambition, drive and personality' will suit the Red Devils.
United have officially announced the mega-money signing of Sanchez from Arsenal, with the Chilean joining on a deal worth £600,000 a week.
He has swapped the Emirates for Old Trafford with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving the other way.
Following Sanchez's move, Mourinho told the club's official website: “Alexis is one of the best attacking players in the world and he will complete our very young and talented group of attacking players.
“He will bring his ambition, drive and personality, qualities that make a Manchester United player and a player that makes the team stronger and the supporters proud of their club dimension and prestige.”
