Penelope Cruz Shares How She Relates Most to Donatella Versace and Her Family

Penelope Cruz is proud to portray Donatella Versace on The Assassination of Gianni

Versace: American Crime Story.
The 43-year-old actress covers the March issue of Town & Country
magazine with Edgar Ramirez, who portrays the slain Gianni Versace in the mini-series, and the two share what taking on these real-life roles means to them.

"To me, she [Donatella Versace] is like a heroine," Cruz says of the 62-year-old fashion designer who took over Versace after her brother was murdered outside his Miami home in 1997. "She has demonstrated in so many ways in her life how to be an incredible woman."

Ramirez also has a lot of admiration for Gianni, telling the publication, "He was a visionary and a disruptor, and we’re experiencing an era that he helped create aesthetically. There were no designers expressing that rock ‘n’ roll approach to couture before Gianni -- this mix of sexuality and celebrity. The current obsession with fame started with Gianni."

Cruz notes that her personal upbringing has resulted in her feeling very connected to Donatella and her siblings. "I could relate to that family emotion. Italian and Spanish people are very similar in that way," she explains. "It’s like what I have with my brother and sister. Donatella, Santo, Gianni, what they had together they started together, and that family passion is very tight."

While Cruz and Ramirez are opening up about what it's like to play members of the Versace family, Donatella gives
Vogue an inside look into her actual life.

Participating in the fashion magazine's "73 Questions" segment, the Italian fashionista seems quite personable and up for answering just about anything.

When asked what her reaction was to hearing Lady Gaga's "Donatella" song, she exclaims, "I say, 'Wow! Finally!"

Donatella also confirms that she knows all the words to Bruno Mars' ballad, "Versace on the Floor," and says she fully supports Migos' lyric, "Versace the top of my Audi."

When it comes to her tastes in movies and TV, Donatella is also up with the times, noting that her favorite film is
The Shape of Water and that she's binge watching Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel .

As for what she thinks of American Crime Story , Donatella has not personally spoken about the FX show, but the Versace family has expressed their disapproval of the mini-series,
telling ET in a statement that it's a "work of fiction."

ET got the ACS cast's reaction to not having the family's blessing:

Pregnant Kate Middleton Channels Princess Diana in Red Houndstooth Coat During Royal Tour: Pics!

Kate Middleton's maternity wear just keeps getting better and better!

During day two of her royal tour of Sweden and Norway with Prince William on Wednesday, the Duchess of Cambridge seemingly took a style cue from her husband's late mother,
Princess Diana .

The brunette beauty wore a red-and-white houndstooth coat, custom-made by Catherine Walker. Middleton accessorized the bold number with sheer burgundy tights, matching heels and a deep red Chanel handbag.

The outfit looks very similar to an ensemble Princess Diana wore to an event at Sandringham in December 1990. Just like Middleton, the late royal styled her Moschino coat with sheer tights and red heels, while also donning an oversized hat and black-and-white houndstooth skirt.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who are expecting their third child together, were accompanied by Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel as they made their way to the Karolinska Institute on Wednesday. According to a tweet from Kensington Palace, the royals learned more about Sweden's pioneering work in the field of mental health and children's well-being, and how children and young teenagers are supported through the Swedish education system.

Kate ditched her jacket while indoors, revealing her stunning Alexander McQueen dress -- and a glimpse of her growing belly!

She and her husband later visited Matteusskolan, a school in the heart of the city centre, where the YAM programme operates. Inside, Prince William gave a speech to students, teachers and guests about the importance of young people having conversations about mental health challenges.

The itinerary for day two was much more serious than what was planned for their first 24 hours in Sweden. The lovebirds kicked off their four-day tour by visiting an outdoor skating rink in Stockholm, sharing lots of laughs while challenging each other to a game of ice hockey.

Kardashian and Hilton have a long history. The mother of three used to be Hilton’s assistant back in the day and then friend. They had a brief falling out in 2008 over some comments Hilton made about Kardashian’s famous backside. But in recent years they have shown more and more support for each other.

“We’ve known each other since we were little girls, we’ve always been friends,” Hilton told Yahoo Style in 2015. “It’s nice to inspire people. I’m really proud of her and what she’s done.”

GRAMMYs Fashion: Best Dressed of All Time

The GRAMMY awards red carpet is unlike any other Hollywood event!

The biggest and most talented artists in the music industry not only reunite to celebrate the best music of the year, they also take the biggest risks when it comes to fashion.

There are those that step out in the
most revealing looks and then there are stars that make glamorous statements with their gowns, like Beyonce and
Taylor Swift. Now, ET is rounding up the best and most stunning GRAMMY looks of all time ahead of Sunday's 60th annual awards show.

There have been plenty of bow down moment from Queen Bey at the GRAMMYs, but her 2014 curve-hugging, sheer floral gown by Michael Costello was among the most memorable.

The "Bad Blood" songstress showed her sensual side with a coral crop-top and neon pink maxi skirt with a high slit from Versace at the 2016 ceremony. The overall look was perfect for the country singer-turned-pop star.

There's also Jennifer Lopez's iconic, barely-there sheer Versace gown that will forever go down in GRAMMYs history. The skin-baring design showed more than expected, yet still had an air of elegance.
