New Ford Edge ST 2019 unveiled at Detroit Auto Show - Here’s what you need to know

Ford Edge ST has been revealed at Detroit Auto Show 2018
American car giant Ford has pulled the wraps off the new Edge ST.
The Edge ST is a higher-powered tuned up version of the SUV.
As a performance variant it gets some hotter specs and is powered by a 335bhp 2.7-litre V6 petrol engine that develops 515Nm of torque.
This powertrain is paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel drive system as standard.
Suspension has also been tweaked and sees a sport mode being added to the options list which offers sharper throttle response, gear shifts and engine braking.

Its styling receives some sporty upgrades including 21-inch alloy wheels, larger and more muscular front and rear bumpers and meaty dual exhaust.
Inside the car some other minor tweaks have been made including on the seatbacks and to the steering wheel.
Elsewhere in the the car's interior will be Ford's new Sync 3 systems which comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa and a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot.
A number of sage assistant features will be added including forward collision warning with auto braking, blind spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, lane keep assist and post-collision braking.

Other optional features include a 12-speaker B&O auto system, adaptive cruise control, park assist and wireless charging.
This particular vehicle will not be heading to the UK.
Other models will be available to British buyers, however, which will feature some updated styling and slightly tweaked powertrain options.

Pricing options have not yet been confirmed but is expected to cost more than the standard $30,215 base price.
